The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) seized medicines worth ₹7.89 lakh from an illegally operating godown in Hanumakonda, where 22 varieties of medicines were allegedly stocked for sale without a valid drug licence.
The raid was conducted by the drugs wing of TG SAFE on November 6 at a godown located at Srinivasa Nagar, near Kaloji Kalakshetram in Balasamudram, following credible information about illegal storage and sale of medicines.
During the inspection, officials found that the premises were being operated by B. Srujan Reddy through his employee, Hari Krishna, without obtaining the mandatory drug licence. The seized stock included varieties of medicines such as antibiotics, anti-ulcer drugs, cough suppressants, analgesics, antihistamines and other drugs.
TG SAFE officials also collected samples of the seized medicines for analysis. Further investigation is under way, and action will be initiated against those involved in accordance with the law, they said.
