The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has adjourned to Wednesday, September 16, 2026 a suit challenging the nomination of candidates by the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, for the 2027 elections.

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has adjourned to Wednesday, September 16, 2026 a suit challenging the nomination of candidates by the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, for the 2027 elections.

Justice D.E. Osiagor of the Federal High Court, Lagos Judicial Division, adjourned the matter after counsel to the plaintiffs, Monday Mawah, sought to join the party’s nominee, Funsho Doherty, and amend the pending suit.

The NDC counsel, D.D. Duru, opposed the application, with the court fixing Wednesday to determine whether Dorothy should be joined in the case.

The court is expected to determine the joinder application on Wednesday as the dispute over the NDC’s candidates continues.
